Internships

Senator Charles E. Schumer, Fall Intern
September-December 2021
Syracuse, NY

One of the requirements for my policy studies major capstone class was completing an internship at a government or non-profit agency. I was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to complete this requirement by interning for New York Senator Chuck Schumer during the Fall 2021 semester.
Some of the tasks I worked on include:
  • tracking daily press clips
  • archiving/organizing press clips to be presented to the Senator
  • documenting incoming voicemails and constituent concerns
  • returning phone calls from constituents
 
New York City Council, Communications Intern
June-August 2021

In the Summer of 2021, I had the opportunity to intern again at the New York City Council. This time my internship was in the communications office.
Some of the tasks I worked on include:
  • tracking daily press clips
  • archiving press clips
  • drafting press released
  • creating social media content
  • brainstorming new campaigns
 
Max Rose for Congress, Campaign Intern
May-November 2020

I had the unique opportunity to work on several different aspects of the campaign during my internship. Some of the tasks I worked on include:
  • tracking daily press clips
  • archiving press clips
  • archiving and organizing 9 months of backlogged press clips
  • calling constituents
  • returning voicemails left at the office
  • tracking and archiving oppo social media research
  • trained new members of the press team
  • delivering lawn signs

New York City Council, Correspondence Intern

June - August 2019

​

At the City Council, I worked in Speaker Corey Johnson's central correspondence office. As an intern, I assisted in daily tasks such as:
  • writing responses to concerned constituents
  • organizing newsletters
  • writing summaries of various council legislation to be included in the newsletters
  • editing proclamations
 
Hill Communications, Intern

January - May 2019

 

At the start of my second semester at Syracuse University, I began interning for the student-run PR firm on campus, Hill Communications. I was placed on the account for Paige's Butterfly Run which is a non-profit organization whose goal is to raise funds that go towards research of pediatric cancer as well as benefit the families of pediatric cancer patients.  

 

HITN, Master Control Intern

July - August 2018

 

HITN is the largest Spanish-language public broadcasting network in the United States. During my time at the network, I worked in the master control room. My tasks included adding and removing different animations to the broadcast, monitoring the feed, and editing commercials before they aired. 

 

 

Senator Kirsten Gillibrand, Press Check-In Intern

September 2017

 

I was responsible for checking the press into Senator Gillibrand's Brooklyn Town Hall and coordinating where they would sit during the event.

I am a contributing writer at The Daily Orange for the Pulp section. Most of the articles I write are previews for on and off campus events in Syracuse, NY. Writing these articles requires me to contact and interview multiple sources involved in each event.

As an account associate in EDGE in the business development department, I have spent a lot of time this semester working with a new taco restaurant in Syracuse, NY called XO Taco. My team and I established several different goals for PR that will help draw customers into the restaurant.

At LaGuardia High School, I received training in many aspects of technical theatre including scenic design, technical drafting, carpentry, costume construction, prop management, lighting, stage management, and scenic painting. My concentrations were in stage management and carpentry. I held several internships and tech positions outside of LaGuardia during my time in high school including an internship at the Kaufman Music Center as a design intern.

I reached out to constituents all across the country and discussed the issues that mattered to them and the importance of voting. After the general election, I put my focus into trying to flip the Senate to a Democratic majority by supporting Democrats in Georgia.

We Rise Above the Streets aims to build connections with the homeless community in Syracuse, NY by not only providing financial assistance but by also providing love and support

As a kitchen volunteer, I helped prep and package meals that were delivered to those in need throughout the Syracuse community.

Santa’s Angels is a non-profit organization that collects letters written to Santa by children in low-income areas of New York City to buy and deliver them Christmas presents.
