My Work
MoMA Art Exhibit Press Kit
This is a group project I completed with several other classmates as the final project for our Race, Gender, and Media class. The assignment was based around individual interviews each student conducted with an interview subject about the American Dream. For the final project, we combined all of our interviews to create an imaginary art exhibit we could promote.
Cultural Analysis Paper
This is a cultural analysis paper I wrote on the song "WAP" for my Women and Gender Studies class.
Race, Gender, and Media Assignment
This is an assignment I completed for my Race, Gender, and Media class. The assignment instructions were:
Write a brief email to a content producer (e.g., journalist, artist, brand, company) applying the class material to describe the complex effects of media content by constructing clear and concise arguments that are grounded in theory, culturally aware, and professional. Use this assignment to practice explaining what you have learned to someone who has not taken this class.
Description & Trends (20%): Objectively explain the artifact so that the aspects you will be analyzing are clear to your reader and explicitly describe any important trends in the artifact. Always assume that the reader has forgotten or overlooked important details.
Interpret & Evaluate (40%): Apply terms and theories to explain how different groups may interpret the artifact, and why the content may be problematic (or beneficial).
Engage (20%): Suggest edits or additional content to promote cultural inclusivity with respect to the current artifact. “Keep doing X,” or “Think harder” are NOT sufficient.
Grammar, Structure, Citations (20%): CITE EVERYTHING; Include Word Count (750 MAX)
